Audiobook Warning

There should be a warning label on some audiobooks.

Something like: “May cause spontaneous sobbing on highways". Because today, I had to pull over.

One moment I was driving, coasting with the hum of tires and time, and the next, a sentence cracked through me like lightning in a quiet sky. No warning. No build-up. Tears came.

Not from pain, but from truth. The kind that echoes. The kind that lands in the center of your chest and rings. The kind that reminds you that you are still very much alive beneath all the layers you’ve been wearing to survive. I didn’t see it coming. But maybe that’s the point. Maybe the sacred doesn’t ask for our schedule or our readiness. It just arrives-right on time. Just a raw, sudden knowing that this was meant for me. A voice telling the truth in a way that strips the lies we’ve lived too long inside.

So, this is your heads up, if you choose to press play while driving, be ready to break. Be ready to feel. Be ready to come undone in the best kind of way. And when it happens-because it will, don’t shame it. Don’t rush to clean it up or tuck it away. Let it move through. Those tears? They mean the medicine is working. They mean you finally heard yourself, maybe for the first time in a very long time. And that… is everything
